100% Haitian

Hey y’all! I’m second-generation, and reading my results has left me with mixed emotions. My maternal grandparents are from Jacmel and Léogâne, & my paternal grandparents are from Miragoâne and Jacmel (my parents were born and raised in the capital). Both sides of my family recount being in Haiti prior to its independence of 1803, which I’ve always been proud to know. It seems like maybe some of my Haitian ancestors were trafficked to other Caribbean islands, and/or vice versa given some of my matches. 23andMe said they didn’t detect any of their tested regions for me, but hopefully it shows up when I get my parents and grandparents tested.
