Am I A bad BT?

I’ve been an RBT since August, so 6 months, and sub sessions are always so crazy for me. Today I was subbing with a client that struggles with denied access. I primed to leave the Arts & Crafts area with vocal prompts and a visual timer and he said “No” to putting away his slime. I showed him his visual schedule and prompted him to pick another activity to do next other than slime (videos or recess). He picked videos. He let me remove the slime, but started throwing and aggressed at me once.

Another BT and I removed all the throwable objects from the area, and a girl on his case comes up and helps him out of the arts and crafts area into the circle time area. This girl seems stressed. She asked me what happened and I told her, and she recommended I leave him in circle time to play music and calm down. I do just that, but eventually other clients need to use the area so I attempt giving options again using the visual schedual and he does not respond so I pick videos. I deny him a drum and he begins to engage in behaviors so I quickly walk him out and he immediately calms down once out of the area.

On our way back to class, we pass a cabinet that I already denied access to earlier in session (it’s OT stuff so none of the kids can have it but the doors aren’t locked). Previously he had accepted the denied access to the cabinet, but this time he begins to cough and gag while holding his neck. This is right next to the area where all the “breaker” BTs hang out so they start to notice and ask what’s going on. I’m trying to text the supervisor because I believe he is trying to make himself throw up because of denied access but it wasn’t in the BIP or notes or anything so i’m not sure. We get a hold of the supervisor and she says that he could be doing it purposefully. Another BT grabs his coping skills bored for me and we play a song and he returns back to class.

I just decided at this point to let him chill in class for a bit and play at his desk. At this point I go on my break, but when I come back I see the classroom has had items thrown and desks moved and I hear my clients upset vocalizations from the hallway. A Supervisor and like 3 BTs are there?? The girl who was watching him says he was playing fine and then got upset because the puppets “weren’t the way he wanted them” and started tantruming. One of the BTs helping calm him was the same BT from before that escorted him out of arts and crafts. This girl ends up breaking down crying and leaving early, and these two other BTs in my class are whispering about the whole thing to each other. One of the girls whispering is going to take the client of the BT leaving early and tells her something like “If i’m being honest with you, if your client is having a behavior with another BT you should not be stepping in” or somthing like that. I believe maybe her client had a behavior while she was helping the girl doing my break handle my client.

Is this all my fault? Am I a bad BT? I don’t want to make other BTs jobs harder. :(

*note I literally have the flu but could not skip work so I know I wasn’t at 100% today
