When exactly are traditional crit ADCs strong?
In the past week, I've been told:
• They are weak early game because the class is designed to scale. The support also dictates the laning phase.
• They are weak mid game because abilities dominate the mid game. For example, Cait is well-known to have a power trough in the mid game because she has no X-factor spell.
• They are weak against tanks because they don't have any tank busting like on-hit carries do.
• They are weak late game because they play front to back and suck against tanks. If crit ADCs had more dive tools and such, you could argue that they can target higher priority enemies. But those tools typically belong to on-hit ADCs or non-traditional ones. So like Kaisa, Vayne, Samira, Nilah, Ezreal. The immobile crit ADCs are forced to play front to back.
• They are weak against assassins because it's a natural counter.
• They are weak against mages because it's a less appreciated natural counter. AA ADCs are good against things they can AA. An immobile ADC will never DPS a control mage, and if they do trade auto for spell, that is obviously hard losing.
• They are weak against bruisers/fighters because as we saw in the Humzh clip, it doesn't take much for a bruiser to necessitate tank busting. That Draven was supposedly useless because he only deals flat physical damage. The Reptile clip could count as well, as many people classify Tahm as a fighter. Basically, you need tank busting for a tank, and you apparently need tank busting for a bruiser as well now. Crit ADCs have none so they are weak to these classes.
• They are weak against solo lane marksmen because it's a mirror matchup but you're underleveled.
