RAAF Fireman role

I've been interested in the ADF for quite some time, I've gone and gotten my high school equivalency done and I'm now at the stage of selecting the jobs I'm interested in so I can bring them up to the you session. Growing up I was always looking at the combat roles like infantry and commandos and MP. But tonight I came across the Air force fireman role and it looks pretty good. It's a good pay, I could be posted at an air base which is 15ish minutes away from my family home and my ambition after the military is something involving emergency services. I want to know all I can about it, is it a good job, do they deploy, is it an intense or a relaxed role? What should I prepare for so on so on. Any advice would be appreciated.
