alternatives to accutane and other less intensive treatments

i’m fucking suffering on this medication. this is my second time trying it AND it’s on a lower dose than the first! i’m on THE LOWEST POSSIBLE DOSE. i pretty much can’t function.

unfortunately, there hasn’t been a single topical treatment out there that doesn’t make my acne worse, nor have antibiotics been worth it over their side-effects.

i’ll take a more invasive treatment option if it exists. my acne isn’t super severe, but it’s persistent, and the massively swollen nodules that pop up are excruciatingly painful. it makes me want to just rip my skin off.

what else exists to deal with acne at this point??

noteworthy addition: my acne is not hormonal
