Do Americans tend not to keep in physical contact with each other, like hugging or kissing ,unless they are already very familiar each other?
I guess in lots of parts of Asia, it's common to see friends of the same sexes holding hands or hugging in public. In European countries like France and some parts of South America, even kissing on the cheeks seem to be the norm between people of the opposite sex. But it seems that Americans don't really make physical contact with each other, both between the opposite sex of the same sex. So in America is it the norm that only people who are related to each other or in relationships engage in physical contact like hugging and kissing?
