Beauty is subjective

How do men perceive beauty? I generally don’t care what men think about me, I think beauty is subjective. However, I had some guys say “you know you’re beautiful don’t you” like they’re reassuring me as if I don’t know or see it. Do guys know when girls are insecure? I also had guys say I’m ugly or this or that, and it doesn’t bother me much but I’d be lying if doesn’t sting sometimes!! I grew up post social media era so I don’t know how beauty was viewed by men pre social media but I know that during, I felt like I had to alter my appearance or personality to fit into boxes that weren’t me bc that’s what those guys liked in girls. I mean I know guys have insecurities as well I’m not naive, but do you care about her appearance? Most importantly do you care about others people opinion on the girls you like, I.e (homeboys, family, etc). What would you do if your close guy friend said “that girl is ugly”? And be real bc we women do it all the time with our girlfriend’s boyfriends LOL. I’m just really curious and want to know!
