Was Assad actually informing on Hezbollah?

Regarding the whole Syria debacle, I’ve read from some credible and non-credible sources that Assad basically sold out Hezbollah positions and information to Israel in exchange for…leaving him alone marginally (considering they’ve been consistently striking Syria even throughout the current war? I’m not taking a position here, I just want to know what the logic behind and what he would gain, especially by dumping fellow Shias Hezbollah, and by way of Hezbollah, Iran who gave him so much manpower over the past decade and propped up his regime.
