Noise pollution

I recently upgraded the glass from 6.38mm laminate to 12.76mm Sound Control Laminate. Im next to 6 lanes of constant traffic on a main road. Due to strata I cannot get double glazing because they swap out the door and window frames as well so they won't approve having different looking frames.

This upgrade did absolutely nothing, I sleep with ear plugs in but still get woken up in the night and peak hour in the morning from 5.30am.

When I researched the difference it really seemed like it would reduce the noise pollution a fair bit. I also spoke with an acoustic engineer and they said there would be a noticeable difference.

I used a decibel phone app and its still 35dB - 68dB and doesn't really ever fall below 30dB.

I'll probably sell, but thought this would be useful for anyone wanting to know if laminate does anything next to a busy road. Double glazing would still be my recommendation if you're upgrading or building and can opt for it.
