I wanted to be with Lae' Zel :((

I made a githyanki character who is PERFECT for Lae Zel, but my githyanki is ALSO a proud motherfucker. So when Lae Zel said I was "following her around with puppy dog eyes", my character obviously denied it. I didn't realize until much later that that would LOCK ME OUT OF ROMANCE WITH HER FOREVER. (Because it technically counts as ending the fling.)

I'm at the beginning of act 2 now, playing with my friend so we can't restart. The only other person I can conceivably romance at this point is Gale, and he's so similar to my IRL ex that I'd die alone before committing to that romance.

Is there nothing that can be done? I would take Astarion as a back up option, but he doesn't really like me (my character hated him after he took too much blood from her so I kept him out of the party as punishment).

I am frustrated with this game making it so that if I realistically RP my character, it locks me out of romances. Why can't I RP a proud snide asshole like Lae Zel or Astarion without facing the consequences of dying alone?
