Can I watch region locked stuff on my laptop???

I want to buy a region B blu ray but I'm in region A (Canada) so none of my players would work. I have a disk player I can connect to my laptop. Would that be a possible work around? I know it's unlikely, but I just wanted to ask in case....

I was contemplating buying a region free player, but.... it's one movie and I don't think it's worth it to purchase another expensive device for it. Idk where to even look for a reliable seller.
