Shekhar Suman Condemns Ranveer Allahbadia Amid India's Got Latent Row
Actor Shekhar Suman has slammed YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia over his controversial joke on India’s Got Latent, calling it "disgusting" and urging the government to ban the show. The controversy erupted after Ranveer, also known as BeerBiceps, made an inappropriate remark about parents on Samay Raina’s show, sparking widespread outrage.
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Shekhar said, “People like this should be exiled from the country. They misuse freedom of speech in the name of comedy and roasts.” He further added that such content fills the nation with "filth" and requested the government to shut down the show permanently.
The backlash led to a formal complaint against Ranveer, Samay, comedian Apoorva Mukhija, and the show's organizers. Following the uproar, Ranveer apologized on X, admitting that his comment was inappropriate and unfunny. He also clarified that he received no payment for his appearance on the show. Last week, he appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber headquarters, admitting his mistake and explaining that YouTubers frequently collaborate without financial transactions.
