One question interview saga
Converted GLIM Chennai PGPM in Cycle 1 with a 94.11 percentile in CAT, 232 in NMAT, and well… XAT? Let’s just say we don’t talk about that one.
Interview Breakdown: P1 : Started off smooth—some HR questions, 3 business-related current affairs, a few questions about my client project, and the usual behavioral/situational stuff. He also asked about my weaknesses and how I plan to fix them—classic B-school material.
P2 (The Family Business Enthusiast): This guy had one mission—convince me to join my family business or die trying. No small talk, no warm-up, just straight to “Why won’t you join your family business?” And he did not let it go. 35 minutes, one question, endless variations. I threw out at least five different answers, but this man was built different—he wasn’t buying any of them. At one point, I thought he might just send me to my family business anyway 🫠.
35 minutes, one interrogation, and somehow, a conversion. Guess I did something right.
