REVISED CUET-UG and PG Guidelines for 2025

(Source)

The UGC and NTA have proposed a few changes that are to be implemented for CUET 2025:

  • CUET will shift to Computer-Based Tests again, the Hybrid (OMR Sheet) method will be done away with.
  • Number of available subjects reduced from 63 to 37, and admissions for the dropped subjects will be conducted on the basis of scores of the General Aptitude Test (GAT).
  • Candidates will be allowed to opt for subjects in CUET UG which they have not studied in class 12. (NOTE: This is a little confusing as it was already possible for candidates to do this in 2024. Better to wait until the NTA CUET Information Bulletin and the DU Information Bulletin for 2025 are released for more clarification on this point.)
  • Exam duration for all subjects is now 60 minutes.
  • A candidate can appear for a maximum of 5 subjects only (as opposed to 6 subjects last year.)
  • Optional questions in the exam has also been done away with; all questions will be compulsory.

Whether any further changes or revisions will happen to these guidelines is unclear, it is best to wait for the release of the official NTA-CUET Information Bulletin for concrete information.
