Childcare Question

Hi all,

Preface: my kid attended full time daycare from September, 2021 to June of this year. As with many parents, our cost of childcare dropped dramatically in January because of the Affordable Childcare Grant, provided by the federal government (thanks, Trudeau).

Starting this September, my kid will be attending a half day of kindergarten 4 days a week with a few Fridays sprinkled in for good measure. Pricing out part time childcare for this school year, it would appear that we will no longer be accessing a subsidized childcare setting because kindergarten kids do not qualify. This is according to the price list and manager of our childcare provider.

Have other parents who have kids going into kindergarten noticed or dealt with the same thing, or am I up against some sort of shady shit?
