York Regional Police charged a Toronto resident with several human-trafficking-related offences.
Police launched an investigation in August after receiving information about a victim who was lured to work in the sex trade.
Police made an arrest in the case Dec. 15.
Shan Latif, 38, of Toronto, also known by the nickname Kush, is charged with trafficking in persons, material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, procuring and uttering threats. Investigators have released Latif's photo and are encouraging any additional victims who may recognize him to come forward.
