Has anyone noticed that Degrassi is one of the only shows that has characters with accents?

It's something I noticed, and it's a good thing. I like that they have realistic accents for many of the parents, and even one main teen character (Rasha).

The Del Rossis and Bhandaris come to mind, as well as Manny's parents. There are probably others that I can't think of.

It's very rare for a show to do that, unless the characters are caricatures. (Or am I missing something?)

I don't know if the actors have actual accents or not, but it's good to see the producers acknowledging the heritage of the characters.
