The pros (and cons) of activating AM chip this game week instead of TC

I know that most people are thinking of using the TC this week on Salah for the guaranteed double with the best team in the league. But hear me out on the pros of using the AM chip, and a possible chip strategy:

Pros:

  • You get at least four fixtures, and a potential FIVE fixtures in the three week run GW24-GW26.
  • For a double to happen in GW25, Spurs needs to get top 8 in EL (highly likely) and win against Liverpool to advance to carabao cup final (unlikely). But crazier things have happened than these two possible outcomes. If they don’t happen, at least we have 4 fixtures.
  • Suggested AM strategy if we have 5 fixtures could then be Moyes GW24 (free transfer), Ange or Silva GW25, either keep for GW26 or move to a manager with an easy fixture such as Iraola.
  • You don’t need to stress with this chip in the last weeks of the season, you get over with it instead. And it doesn’t ruin a potential strategy for using FH, WC, BB in the GW30+ run.
  • Since many people have used their TC earlier in the season, the EO for Salah won’t be that high. I believe it will be between 210% - 240% at most. And I think most of us go every week stressing about a player that is 40% owned, that’s nothing new (me with Wood for example). It won’t hurt us that much if he hauls.
  • Bournemouth away is currently a difficult fixture, Everton away is a derby match, and Salah is not at his 100% top form at the moment.
  • Not following every other person, living a little, etc….

Cons:

  • It’s Salah and Liverpool and it’s likely that he will haul in at least one of the two fixtures.
  • Although the potential for lots of points is high, we could easily end up with practically 0 points if our manager choices fail.

What are we thinking? Would like to hear other people’s inputs as well!
