How do you cope mentally with young people making a ton of money?
Im in Software Engineering and make decent money now (never managed to get to crazy levels though)
And I come across people who have 5 years of experience, have a "Senior" title (or over), and make 500k (if not more) a year. It hurts me when I think that by the age of 35 they are going to get to a (financial) situation that I will have to wait to be 50 y.o to be at (because the world moves faster, and getting 300k 5 years ago was hard, now it's almost an entry level comp)
So I'm generally curious about how people look at situations like this, how they mentally try to be happy with their own lives without being jealous
(for the context I'm close to 40 yo, moved to the US just a few years ago, didn't invest before, and was making < 80k all my life in Europe - my wife is American)
EDIT:
Just wanted to add to the post as I realize that numbers put people off / the post was poorly formulated
I didn't really want to talk about the numbers. Just replace with what you have. You started at x, you now make 2x. And you see "kids" making 2x as well, and they will retire at 35. And you start to wonder about life. That was what this post was really about!
