Resources for completing a maths IA( MAASL) on medicine ?

So I mainly want to focus on differentiation and/or modelling for this IA, although any other topics that worked in your experience are also much appreciated. I looked at some IA samples on drug concentration-time graph and the cardiograph, and for epidemiology I also looked at the SEIR model but it doesn't seem to help with my initial plan of looking at the optimal dose of covid vaccine to achieve a satisfactory level of immunity within a population. However I suspect that they are either overdone or unrealistic, and I feel like I am only planning to do them because they appear to be the only options I can think of rather than my own interest.

Thus, I'd like to ask some current students and ib alumnis what they use to brainstorm ideas for a medicine-related maths IA/formulate the math for answering their research question. It can be for any math topic that branches from the MAASL syllabus really. Thanks a lot for your help! :D
