Why Is The Fantasy Fanbase So Small In India?

Of course, there are fantasy fans in India, as there are everywhere else. But I do not see a lot of fantasy fans here, like fans of the works of Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson, George RR Martin, Robert Jordan, etc. I am making this post with the intent of figuring out the Indian books market - as an upcoming novelist - because I love writing fantasy and I really want my novels to sell well. Could y'all help me understand the intricacies of the novel market in India? By the way, I know romance novels sell really well, but I am really not interested in writing something with only romance. There also aren't many mainstream and commercial Indian authors - like Chetan Bhagat - who write fantasy and sell well, and if there are, I certainly haven't heard about them.
