MJ Fans and defenders have long praised Katherine for beating up Gina Sprague after finding out her husband was having an affair with the NINETEEN year old.

I read about this in J. Randy Taraborrelli's book about how Joe was having an affair with his assistant, 19 year old Gina Sprague, and it's also talked about in Margaret Maldonaldo's novel about the Jackson's as well....

"Gina made the mistake of insinuating herself into Katherine's home life. She would call Hayvenhurst frequently to talk with Joseph and, more often than not, Katherine would pick up the phone. Gina said the calls were business. Katherine knew that they were personal. Katherine told me that a wife knows when another woman is sleeping with her husband, and she knew Gina was sleeping with Joseph"

Eventually, according to both books, Katherine gets tired of it and allegedly calls Gina at the office to threaten her to get out of Joe's life, the next day Katherine went to the office with Janet (14 years old) and Randy (eighteen years old), when they commanded other employees at the office to leave them and Gina alone they confronted Gina about the relationship with Joe, and a heated argument ensued.

Janet and Randy held Gina down as Katherine attacked her, pulling her hair and screaming obscenities at her. People at the building heard screams but were told to "stay out of it, this is family business, the attack ended and Gina limped into Joseph's office, he had been in a meeting, he sees her bruised and battered and an ambulance is called. She told Joe that it was Katherine who did it.

Gina was taken to the hospital and treated for bruises, contusions and a head injury, she is then allegedly visited by Joe the next day at her apartment, and he chastises her for calling the police, "You of all people in my life, know how much I love my family. They're everything to me" (Which is super fucked up to say when he was lying about Joh'Vonnie his secret daughter, and also sexually abusing at least two of his kids with Katherine, and mercilessly beating his sons, and constantly cheating on Katherine while on the tour circuit with the boys, but yeah he cares SOOO much for his family.)

Alleged in J Taraborrelli's book, Joseph offered her money and she was furious and kicked him out of the apartment.

Michael refused to believe this ever happened, Janet and Randy always deny it, though the answer to the suit that Gina filed is that "Gina never would have been injured if she exercised 'ordinary care of her behalf" J. Taraborrelli states this as being an odd thing to say.

Gina sued Katherine, Joseph, Randy and Janet for 21 million dollars, a lawsuit eventually was reached out of court.

Gina stated "I felt sorry for them, I loved that family. I know I was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, but like I told Katherine in court, next time, kick HIS ass. Not Mine."

Some fans don't believe the story, they, like Michael at the time, are unwilling to think that Katherine would do something like that, or if she did, "she had every reason to" but I don't think violence like this is EVER justified, especially because Gina was just a young lady and Joe was the shithead who was constantly cheating on his wife, Gina was 19 for fucks sake, how is beating the ever loving shit out of a teenager ever justifiable? But if you look up this story on many MJ forums and fan discussions they praise the family, they praise Janet as "a hard ass" and they say stuff like "way to go Katherine!!!"

Katherine was out of line for this, and involving her children in it was even more fucked up, she is NOT the saintly angel that people paint her as. She kept saying she wouldn't tolerate her husband mistreating her, which pisses me off even more because the only time she ever got mad at him or thought to leave him was when he was cheating on her and not when she knew he was raping her daughters and violently abusing her sons.

I see Michael fans often make reference to how "shady" the Cascio family is because they are Italian and so, obviously (/sarcasm) are in the mafia, but this shit with Katherine is the most mobster shit I've ever read about coming from a southern Jehovah Witness... lets just hope Jehovah wasn't witnessing that because it did not make her look good lol
