Why do you play Modern?

As a relatively new player I'm a bit confused as to why modern is so popular?

• the format gets nuked every 2 years with modern Horizons, almost making it a rotating format

• Constant issue with printed cards, see Nadu. Or The One Ring being an auto include in all decks
