Confused by his words

I have an LDR boyfriend and we've been together for almost 2 months.

When he says, "I don't need you. I don't need anyone. But I want you." What does it mean? I'm confused but deep inside feel ko it's not a good thing. Why doesn't he need me but I need him? I feel really bothered inside like something is off.
