11 year old daughter texting with "boyfriend"

My 11 year old daughter just arrived a week ago for summer vacation. I was aware she had a "boyfriend", which I wasn't super pleased with as she's a kid, but thought it was innocent. Fast forward to now, my daughter and this boy are texting each other daily, asking to FaceTime, saying I love you, saying goodnight....this all seems like too much. She just finished 5th grade, 6th grade is still part of the elementary school. Her mother is apparently aware of this, so basically we end up being the bad guys if I say something but I'm concerned.
