Why do some filipinos think of themselves as inferior

hi everyone kamusta ka, first of all I'm not a Filipino i am from india and i recently visited the philippines and i really enjoyed my trip I don't think I could have gone to better place for my trip. Everything is so nice the beaches the people were really kind to me. one thing i noticed many times was the local would compliment me about my looks (i think I'm better than average looking) and height (I'm not very tall I'm just 178cm) while sort of insulting themselves in a way. Like i was buying a oreo shake and the lady was kind and she said "omg you nose is so cute Filipinos have ugly nose" yeah she used exactly the word "ugly" and honestly that was kind of sad that she said such thing. And one more time i was in manila at the joliebee and the lady sitting besides me curiously asked where I'm from and she was like "oh you don't look like you're from india you're really tall" i said thank you and she was with a 12-14 year old kid (maybe her son idk) and she said "Filipinos are genetically inferior" yeah she literally said that in front of her kid. Do Filipino in general have this inferiority complex? I'm Askin because on the internet we indians do face a lot of racism from all sides and some people develop an inferiority complex, I'm sure Filipinos too face racism but not as intensely. Is it the reason why there's a sort of inferiority compelx among the people of both the countries. Or what i experienced was just purely random. I'd like to know your views. Salamat for reading.
