Ridge Vent Installtion

In May 2024 I had my roof replaced. They convinced me to have a ridge vent installed.

For various reasons I had an independent home inspection company evaluate the roof and attic following the completion of the work. They found a few minor issues that I subsequently contacted the roofing company about repairing. They, of course, ignored my email so the next step is to send a demand letter.

I wanted to include a cost of repairs so I contacted another local roofing company for a quote. They not only took a look at the problem areas but brought to my attention that the ridge vent was not installed properly. I was surprised since the inspection company hadn't noticed anything wrong with it. I asked the inspector to send me the pictures they took of the ridge vent.

What do you all think? Does it look okay? The roofer who came for the quote showed me a video he took that showed exposed plywood and nails but the inspector was puzzled by this and said the only way to see this would be if the roofer had physically lifted up the ridge vent.

This makes me wonder if he's trying to upsell me because his recommendation is to remove the ridge vent and install maxi vents instead, along with some other repairs, for a total cost of $3000. I'm also going to contact GAF because they have misapplicaton as part of the guarantee, and the original roofing company is GAF certified.
