Bug Out/SHTF Vehicle

Somewhat related to my previous post. With the election over and tariffs on the horizon, one of the (many) things that will go up in price is vehicles. Without giving too much away, I currently own a paid off vehicle. It gets good gas mileage, is safe, and has a decent amount of room. However, it has some drawbacks. It is front-wheel drive, which isn't ideal in very snowy weather, even with winter tires on. It doesn't have a lot of height/road clearance either, and it is gas.

I've been eying buying a new car for a while, and am leaning towards a hybrid SUV such as a Subaru (Crosstrek or Forester) or Toyota (Rav4, Corolla Cross), Honda CR-V or similar model from another manufacturer. While primarily gas, the passive hybrid would cut down the cost a little which is good for daily driving, and they'd be able to take rough terrain or inclement weather more readily do to being AWD/4WD (and with wildfires/forest fires now happening even in places that don't typically experience them, I'm trying to be considerate of that fact, in addition to climate changes overall impact on weather patterns). AWD/4WD is a must, price range from $28k-35K

I've also been eying buying either an e-bike capable of taking some rough terrain or a Honda CT125, as these would be cheaper than a new car and serve as a decent compromise should I need to bug out in a worst case scenario (not capable of carrying as much, but still capable of more than if I were on foot, while allowing me to travel faster and farther as well).

Any input or advice is welcome.
