Spiderman 1 is better than Spiderman 2
Spiderman 2 is objectively a better game in almost every aspect (platinummed it in 25 hours, just like the first one), but Spiderman 1 is better than SM2 story-wise. I don't know about you guys but, at the end of the day, I (re)play every game because of its story.
As I said, SM2 is a really good game and has a good story (Kraven and that grandpa mission represent the best of it hands down), but the story of SM1 is SO much better. Heck, even the intro of SM1 beats down the one from SM2: yes, fighting Sandman across NY alongside Miles is spectacular, but it's just that, like fireworks. During the first five minutes or less of SM1 you're told in a very subtle, yet efficient way through visuals and soundtrack who is Peter Parker and Spiderman, his rogue gallery, what has he been through, how he struggles managing his two lives, the feeling of freedom while web-swinging... I gotta say, it's one of the best presentations I've ever seen of a protagonist, either cinema or videogames. And the rest of the first is just like that, a simple story that enables to explore more complex or personal conflicts, just like Sam Raimi movies that I absolutely adore, and the ending is just perfect. I genuinely cried fighting with Doc Ock, but I didn't feel the same with Venom.
What do you guys think? Please, answer politely. I don't wanna start any fight.
