If the EU writers knew the Jedi were more Monastic in the early 90s, how would the NJO have gone?

Evening. I often argue that the reason the njo was so different from the ojo wasn't for any refute of the ojo policy but because the ones who set the foundation for it had no idea what lucas had in mind for the jedi order in the prequels and most people assumed it was more round table knights than Monastic religious order.

That said, what do y'all imagine the njo would be if the writers were at least more aware of how lucas saw things? On if, during the original jedi academy trilogy, the luke had a greater awareness of what his predecessors operated like?
