NPC destroyed a chest outside my farm which had my axe inside

So I’m in a major conundrum right now. I had a chest next to Willy’s to store fish. During the Annual Night Market that chest was in an NPC’s path and got destroyed (I didn’t even know that was a thing until my research now). The problem is it had my axe in there and it’s completely disappeared. What can I do?
