Hey all! Eric (u/Illustrious-Golf9979) here with some exciting news about a few community initiatives we're launching to make our sub more engaging and informative.
Announcing: Strain of the Week! 🌿
Starting tonight, we're introducing a new weekly feature called "Strain of the Week." Here's how it works:
Each week, we'll select and announce a featured strain lineage (like Sour Diesel, for example). Anyone who purchases or has experience with strains from that genetic lineage can contribute their insights throughout the week.
The beauty of this approach is that we'll gather collective knowledge about specific genetics. If the week's strain is Sour Diesel, then any Sour Diesel variant qualifies for discussion.
What can you contribute?
- Detailed reviews
- High-quality photos
- Lab data or terpene profiles
- Personal experiences and effects
- Purchase information (price, location, etc.)
- Historical information about the strain
At the end of each week, I'll compile everyone's contributions into a comprehensive community report, crediting each contributor by name. This way, we build a valuable resource that combines our collective experiences and knowledge—one strain at a time.
Look for posts with the "Strain of the Week" flair to participate!
Weekly Community Highlights & Monthly Recognition
I'm also planning to start a weekly "Community Highlights" post. Each week, I'll browse through the sub looking for: - Members helping others with thoughtful advice - Exceptionally informative posts or reviews - People who've gone above and beyond for the community - Contributors who bring unique knowledge or perspective
These weekly shoutouts will celebrate what makes this community special. Additionally, once a month, we'll select someone who's made particularly outstanding contributions for a special prize.
Looking for Your Input
What do you think about these new initiatives? Do you have suggestions for: - Specific strains we should feature in upcoming weeks? - Additional community events or projects? - Ideas for improving these concepts? - Suggestions for the monthly recognition prize?
While we're a Farm Bill compliant sub, I understand many of us are medical patients (like myself—PA MMP cardholder, dual diagnosis patient), and I believe we can build an exceptionally informative, supportive community while staying within appropriate boundaries.
