Bad Drawing or Bad Design?
I haven’t gotten a tattoo in over a decade, and I am trying to take my time to get it right. I reached out to multiple artists from nearby cities but it’s been over a week and nome reached back out, so I decided to drop in at a local studio.
So I put a deposit in with a local artist for a design I had thought of, but idk if I’m not feeing it because it’s a bad idea or poor execution. The first pic is the drawing they returned and the second is what I sent as reference.
My idea was the spork with a thin puzzle piece border, he added the idea that the spork is coming out of the border. I like the idea of that, going outside the lines and all that, but the way this is drawn I am having a hard time imagining this looking good on skin. Maybe it’s because it’s digital and not hand drawn?
I’m not someone who is skilled in visual arts, not terribly familiar with the tattoo world, so hoping for a little advice. Do artists not usually reach out to requests made online? Should I ask my local artist to hand draw the design so I can get a better idea of what it will look like on my body? Any advice is appreciated!
