I hate these pants

I don’t actually hate them but I dislike these..a lot.

Here’s my (likely) L take.

It is incredibly hard to find a good white pant. I’ve been looking for years and only recently found a pair I liked (the dickies painters in natural).

All that said, the Morrison pants are the most uninspired things I’ve seen in awhile. The cut is the same as the Talouca Jean from PoolHouse NewYork (which I don’t care for either but that’s just me). It’s not even so much the price that gets me ($268) but I just loathe pre distressed clothing.

Maybe it triggers the tradesmen / leather crafter in me, though I’ve championed many times that one doesn’t have to work blue collar to wear clothes they like, because that’s just gate keeping and gatekeepers suck. But these pants have that stolen valor thing. Idk it feels like they’re selling a vintage pair of roughed up painted and scuffed white pants at a premium price. Now I get they’re a small company and the pants are produced in LA, so the price isn’t so outlandish, but I guess my biggest issue is any pre-distressed item made at scale feels goofy.

Alot of the male fashion influencers at the moment are glazing bare knuckles (which hey get your bag!) over these jeans. It’s just ironic how in the current zeitgeist alot of us talk about curating our personal style, having sauce, etc., all that is fine- but it’s hard to be authentic when you’re buying something that’s pre distressed at scale, you cannot buy authenticity per se.

I get this is super contrarian coming from someone who buys a lot of vintage, as many vintage items are pre worn and distressed. I personally wouldn’t buy these jeans, but I’m also not going to necessarily rag on anyone who does, because ultimately the jeans do look cool
