Doubt about God’s existence

My question involves a pretty holistic historical view of the world and how we look at human behavior . Humans have always had religion. Always believed in a God or gods of some kind essentially regardless of location across the globe. Many of these religions are dead, and we view their gods as false or untrue, and now just exist as ancient history. What is the compelling argument for a Christian God? Why do we believe, after all of the other religions that have existed throughout the course of human history, that ours is true? Will we have gone away in the next few thousand years, and will our belief look like what we view now as mere mythology, just a part of history and the human experience?
