Mysticism vs Intellectuslism
Probably should define things before I go on.
Mystic is a person that is more touchy/feely/relational and wants to experience God. Their experiences of God can be fairly bizarre.
Intellectual knows all the facts about God but don’t know him relationally.
I suspect there is a happy middle ground. I’m more on the right side of the continuum ie intellectual and I’m curious how far left you can go? I’m thinking specifically of Christians that use techniques of the eastern religions to empty their minds and achieve different states of consciousness where they experience God in deeper ways. I’m intrigued by experiencing God more deeply, but if the same method works for another religion as a Christian, is that really an experience of God? Curious how far left you go…..
