Will Kais Saied Escape Tunisia’s Curse?

Tunisia’s rulers have a history of meeting terrible ends—betrayal, prison, exile, or worse. Is Kais Saied next? Let’s look at the past:

Hannibal: Nearly defeated Rome, then got betrayed and poisoned himself.

Jugurtha: Fought Rome, got tricked, and starved to death in prison.

Husainid Kings: Ruled for centuries, but the last one, Lamine Bey, was jailed and died forgotten.

Bourguiba: Tunisia’s independence hero, overthrown, and kept under house arrest until death.

Ben Ali: Ruled for 23 years, fled in disgrace, and died in exile.

Nahdha: Kicked out, now most of them on jail or exile

Now, Kais Saied has all the power, but history says that never ends well in Tunisia. What do you think?
