India and C Section epidemic

Why doctors push for C Section?

• natural labour can take a lot of time, doctors dont like that
• hospitals push for c section, because it is predictable, you can plan OT, the room / bed cleared quickly. For e.g. I went through normal delivery, I was in the labour ward for more than 18 hours.
• C section is more expensive than normal. While in big cities they charge same, in smaller cities C section usually costs way more, sometimes more than double

Whether you want to go for normal or C section, its your choice. But please make an informed decision.
