Would you recommend the mtn unlimited router?

I would use it alone and I’m thinking of paying for the 3mbps plan. I only have a phone. Is that ok? Also I heard that they lie about it being unlimited, I heard that they give a specific amount of data monthly and once it’s done, the speed gets really slow. Is that true?
