Affinitrees Tagaytay: Honest Review

BAD EXPERIENCE!! EDIT: Nakita nila tong review ko, telling me that I'm a LIAR and their legal team is in action.

Hi, Future Brides and Grooms-to-Be!

I wanted to share my honest review of Affinitrees Tagaytay, where we had our wedding reception last February 3, 2025.

We booked their venue and catering package because the caterer we initially wanted was one of their accredited partners. The price was reasonable—not exactly cheap, but fair for what they offered. The caterer actually referred us to the venue, highlighting their good relationship and affordability. The location was also convenient, near the CALAX exit and along the highway.

Our Wedding Timeline:

💍 Engaged: February 2024
📍 Attended Kasalang Tagaytay Fair: February 2024 (Booked catering & venue on the spot)
💡 Note: The venue wasn’t officially part of the fair but was still promoted by the caterer.

Our Experience with Affinitrees:

While we initially felt confident in our choice, the experience with the venue team became stressful as our wedding date approached.

1️⃣ Communication Issues:

  • Our group chat (GC) was only created in December 2024, just two months before the wedding, with barely any discussions happening.
  • I had to initiate conversations because I later found out that our Account Executive (AE) had resigned—something they didn’t even inform me about!
  • However, when it came to payments, they were quick to respond (of course!).

2️⃣ Unprofessional Attitude:

  • We decided to pay in full early to secure our event, but after that, their attitude completely changed.
  • They even had internal disputes with suppliers, which they unfairly passed onto us as clients.
  • The Venue Manager pressured us to switch one of our suppliers, badmouthing them to the point where we reluctantly considered their alternative—only to realize the food wasn’t up to our standards. super 🚩 They even spoke negatively about our caterer to multiple couples.
  • Since it was a Tagaytay wedding, we wanted a reputable, well-known caterer, so we stick to our original choice.

3️⃣ Last-Minute Stress & Unreasonable Requests:

  • Detailing only happened 2 weeks before the wedding because the Venue Manager had personal issues with our caterer and delayed discussions.
  • When I mentioned we had already made full payment, she responded with "Why are you bringing that up? wag mo isumbat na nagbayad kana in full" as if it was an issue! (Since when did full payment become a problem?) ako pa daw ang nanunumbat. funny! haha
  • I was so stressed that we considered pulling out our event completely, and I even had to escalate concerns to the actual venue owner.

4️⃣ Unprofessional Handling of Suppliers:

  • 2 days before the wedding, the Venue Manager sent a message in the group chat publicly singling out one of our caterer’s staff and banning them from the venue.
  • Instead of addressing it professionally with the caterer directly, she called them out in front of everyone, which felt unnecessary and rude.
  • What’s worse, while the venue includes certain suppliers in their packages, they take no responsibility if those suppliers are late or cause delays—everything still falls on the couple.
  • Thankfully, our coordinator handled the situation and kept things under control.

Final Thoughts & Advice:

Do thorough research! Affinitrees has a reputation in Tagaytay for the Venue Manager’s difficult attitude—I’ve heard similar stories from other brides.
✅ Some brides even mentioned that the manager tried to dictate supplier choices, like forcing them to change their HMUA kasi naka-away daw niya—which is ridiculous.
Get a reliable wedding coordinator who will absorb the stress so you don’t have to.

Despite all the chaos, our wedding turned out beautifully, thanks to our amazing suppliers who pulled through. 🙌 If you need recommendations for P/V (photo/video) teams, feel free to message me! 😊
