Setlist Suspicions and Hopes - Masquerade, Atlanta
So, I have to say that I am beyond HYPED for this show. You folks just don't know.
I have not been able to see them live since seeing them in Austin, TX on the Everything Now tour, back on September 27, 2017. I had reserved seats for that show, because we drove from Houston to Austin after work. The last time I was in GA and waited in line for the front was TEN YEARS AGO for the Reflektor tour.
Since then, obviously, a lot has happened personally and globally and WE has basically carried me through the last two years of my life. I wanted to go to a show on the WE tour SO MUCH, but just could not make it happen at that time.
In any case, I am intrigued by the fact that this show is almost two years exactly since the release of WE, and also that it is the first non-festival show they have done in America since the conclusion of the WE tour. Is it the first non-festival appearance they have done AT ALL since the WE tour?
They recently removed the WE art from their website. Despite the forthcoming Funeral Anniversary shows, this is not being advertised as such, and I don't think it would make a lot of sense to do a Funeral Anniversary show without attempting to sell it as such.
So, considering all of this, what do you think this set list will be like? My fever dream is new material as they premiered WE at a similarly small venue in New Orleans. However, even without new material, I am curious if they will play a setlist similar to the WE tour or if this will be different.
I would love to hear Age of Anxiety, Rabbit Hole, End of Empire (all of it), and The Lightning I-II off WE.
From other albums, I would love Creature Comfort and We Exist in addition to the standards, because they are both bangers. Month of May seems possible, due to the show being in May.
Any theories or setlist hopes from anyone else?
