Protecting artwork from being sold before probate

Hey Reddit community, my dad passed away and his entire art collection (he was an art dealer and collector for 30 years) was accessed and moved out of state prior to probate being started. I am seeking legal counsel for general probate, however, as art isn’t titled per se, am running into conflicting opinions on if the art can be prevented from being sold until probate is initiated (by way of alerting galleries and the art community). Should I be contacting local galleries where it was moved and make them aware of what’s going on? Is there a forum or database where I can post something? Just seeing if anyone has been through something similar. Appreciate your time and thankful for insights. Thank you so much.
