How is being gay in your country?

In my country of Canada it's pretty good. People are pretty accepting and i'm pretty open, i'm wondering how being gay is in your country. Are you out? Do you feel safe as a gay man. What kind of homophobia have you experienced? The most homophobia i've experienced is getting kicked out of a resturant for kissing my BF.
