Ulnar Nerve, completely dead feeling arm with pins and needles. Didn't know where else to ask for help.
Please tell me if there's a better sub to go to, I may try r/neuropathy but this seems to be a close match. Title says it, but over the last few weeks I've had a flair in what I can only assume is my ulnar nerve- it runs on the back of the elbow and down the outside of your hand, and into your pinky/ ring finger.
Every now and then on one or both arms throughout the years, I've (23,ftm) randomly got bouts of numbness in the area, or shooting pain, but its fleeting and only would last like 10 minutes before dissipating.
I am an illustrator and a mechanic, and I work on a farm. I am constantly using my arms, and am no stranger to injuries on them.
But recently, I wanna say right around the first week of december? The numbness crept back in and my right arm, (non dominant hand, btw) and has not gone away. I genuinely can't feel my pinky at all. No heat or cold feeling, but in my ring finger I can slightly still feel, my middle finger and past is fine. The numbness goes up the forearm halfway. It came on seemingly out of nowhere, the best guess I have is a week prior I was moving something heavy (truck bed trailer hitch for a camper, abt 200lbs) and had a chain slung over my shoulder on that side guiding it. I wasn't pulling its full weight and had done that before with no problem.
Normally the nerves would chill out by now, bit I'm genuinely scared I may have some permanent damage. I don't know what to do, what I can try, if anything. I need my hands to work, and i already have permanent issues/chronic pain from other things. I don't need more. I don't have insurance to go to a doc so if anyone has any idea of things to try I'm open to it.
