Theory about 1999

So here’s something I noticed when listening to 1999 that I haven’t seen anyone else mention: Mitchell Wilson, (the cop) was almost certainly Mr. Bear.

Let’s look at the facts: 1. There’s no way in Hell a normal cop would show some random young guy graphic footage of children being burned alive. It’s almost like he wanted him to see what could’ve happened to him. The whole “wait until your birthday” thing was probably just to hook him in even more.

1. In the emails and the poem by Mr. Bear, (which are confirmed to be real, since he opens and closes the poem with “INRI” which nobody except Mr. Bear would have done, given that the only reference to “INRI” was in the final tape) he calls Elliot by name. Unless he’d been randomly googling information about his crimes years after the fact, that strongly implies he already knew about the blog because he personally knew the author. Granted, it could be because he sent him the letter as a kid, but idk this makes more sense to me.

Now all of this could be chalked up to coincidence or just me being plain wrong, but the thing that has me convinced it was him is:

1. Mr. Bear abandoned the house and fled the day before the police were about to close in on him.

Short of him genuinely having some sort of occult powers due to his Satanism, the only way that would be possible is if he either had a contact in the police department, (unlikely) or was a cop himself.

Now I could very well be wrong, but I feel like it makes sense. I’d like to hear other people’s opinions on this.
