My First Project Back Into Crochet

Crochet Front Tie Cardigan ✍🏻 Chenda DIY 🧶 Loops and Threads Silky Soft in Cranberry 🪡 US G 4mm

This was my first foray back into the craft world earlier this spring, when I felt like I was seeing so many "crochet" looking clothes in stores (or should I say fauxchet 🧐). I then found so many patterns that were way more my style than those that I found when I was a lot younger. Now that I have adult money and an adult brain, I feel like I'm going back into this skill with a lot more resources to be able to achieve greater heights. With each project, I'm learning a lot about fit, yarn quality, and adjustments.

This one in particular I actually made too wide in the back panel originally. I did not end up liking the fit and didn't wear it at all. Recently I decided to be brave and try to fix it. I weaved in some lifelines and cut a line out of the back and sewed the rest together. Even though it's not super neat in the back (my hair covers it anyway 🤭), I'm so much happier with the fit now. I'll feel good about wearing this going forward and the mistakes I can see in them will be a reminder of all the lessons I learned along the way.
