Always ALWAYS fall for my friends/co-workers

I feel like I invariably end up being attracted to my friends and coworkers. These are the people who I see most regularly and share most of myself with. Is this common for other people on here?

I feel like when I share this with others I get a lot of weird looks and backlash for some social taboo that I don’t understand. For me the only way I can end up being interested in someone sexually/romantically is through having some sort of basis as friends or colleagues before hand where we spend a lot of time getting to know each other.
