How to beat the script on POTW flexible?

Yes ok I used that word but I really have never seen anything as bad as this AI gamemode.

It has the most terrible scripted moments of any one I've seen yet.

My players just give up and cannot pass or shoot.

The opponent literally phases through the back of my players to take the ball.

If you score you may as well just have scored an own goal as your players just lay out the red carpet and keep out of the way.

You completely lose control of player its just so so bad.

Playing on superstar and its just ridiculously obviously bad but determined to beat it.

Any tips? Anyone else seeing this?
