Am I expected to just remain unemployed until next year after graduation?

I am in my final year studying geography in UK focusing on ecology. I desire a career in ecology and conservation. I have experience in aviculture handling various types of birds. I decided to start job hunting and doing some research but all entry level ecology jobs I see are seasonal and have start dates in March or April long before I finish my studies. Don’t think there would be many jobs starting in the middle of the breeding season. What opportunities would there be in the winter?
