What are non-ototoxic and safe antibiotics for UTI?
Update: She didn't say anything about the UTI, and I guess she didn't see any problems with it that required treatment in my tests. That's why she didn't prescribe any antibiotics.
Even the possibility of using it again was enough to scare me... I do not want to go back to the times when tinnitus was at a high level, and anxiety and insomnia did not leave me.
It's been 14 months since my first dose of Cipro, and I feel greatly improved. You can see detailed information in my old posts.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor for a general check-up, and blood tests etc. were done. I saw my results from the system and my urine result says "lots of bacteria," and I think that means UTI. This is why I was prescribed Cipro along with Fosfomycin 14 months ago.
I will go to the doctor this afternoon, and she will probably prescribe an antibiotic.
I don't have any UTI-related symptoms. It was also asymptomatic when given Cipro.
Of course, like everyone else here, I'm afraid of using antibiotics. On the other hand, I am afraid that if I do not treat the UTI, even if it is asymptomatic, it will progress.
Cipro gave me permanent Tinnitus, and antibiotics (not all of them ototoxic) can also cause Tinnitus. That's why I don't want to go back to those stupid and scary old months when I'm just starting to feel better. I don't want tinnitus to get worse again. I don't want to put another bomb in my body.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy.
